By removing hazardous litter from the landscape, we make the community safer for everyone.

Volunteer Safety Guidelines During COVID-19:

▸ Volunteers (ages 3 years and older) are required to wear a mask, especially during check-in or other times when maintaining 6 feet of distance may be a challenge. People with a disability or medical condition may request accommodation if they cannot wear a mask, face shield, or face covering.

▸ Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own supplies. This includes gloves and tools.

▸ Please abide by 6 feet physical distancing at all times between you and anyone outside of household.

▸ Wash your hands before and after the event.

▸ Stay home if you or someone you have been in contact with feels unhealthy.

How to dress and the right footwear:

All cleanup gear is being provided by the Bear Creek Stewards and Stop Oregon Litter and Vandalism (SOLVE). We ask participants to wear comfortable clothes and footwear (no open-toed shoes) appropriate for the kind of work and weather we will expect for the day.

Weather and temperature can vary: suggest wearing layers, with long pants to prevent abrasions and long sleeve light shirt to protect from plants and sunshine. Something warmer on top of your long sleeve shirt until the sun warms the air.

Maybe a light daypack for carrying water bottle and personal items needed during three hour morning.

Minimum age:

The minimum age is 1 year old with an adult, and 13+ alone. If a participant is under the age of 18, there will be a minor waiver that needs to be filled out.

Safety issues:

Be cautious of steep slopes, bodies of water, hazardous materials, needles, poison oak, camps, uneven or slippery ground, feces, etc.

Tools:

All clean-up tools will be provided: gloves, bags, buckets, pick-up devices. Participants should return tools and equipment to their check-in booths.

Refreshments:

Snacks and beverages will be provided at the check-in booths for all participants.
